SaaS Product Engineering
Building a SaaS product is not the same as building a website. It requires a different approach to architecture, a different relationship between engineering and product decisions, and a team that understands the commercial pressures of a product that needs to acquire users, retain them, and scale without breaking.
What We Help You Build
MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
A focused first version that is genuinely usable by real customers — not a prototype, not a demo, not a proof of concept. Scoped tightly to what matters most for validation, with the architectural foundations in place to grow.
Multi-Tenant SaaS Platforms
Platforms where multiple companies (tenants) use the same product with complete data isolation between them. This requires deliberate architectural decisions early — around database design, authentication, permission systems, and feature flags.
Product Scaling & Refactoring
Your product works. It has customers. And it's starting to show the stress of having been built under startup conditions. We assess what you have and execute the changes — with minimum disruption to the running product.
Feature Development & Iteration
You have a product. You have a roadmap. You need engineering capacity that can move quickly without creating new problems. We work as an extension of your team — or as the primary engineering function.
The SaaS Engineering Challenges We Understand
SaaS products have a specific set of recurring engineering challenges. We've encountered all of them and have clear points of view on how to address them.
Subscription & billing infrastructure
Stripe integration, subscription state management, trial logic, upgrade and downgrade flows, invoice generation, dunning. Frequently implemented poorly, creating revenue leakage and support overhead.
Authentication & access control
SSO, OAuth, magic links, session management, role-based access control, and organisation-level permissions. We design auth systems that are auditable, testable, and durable.
Onboarding & activation flows
The gap between signup and first meaningful action is where most SaaS products lose the majority of their users. We build onboarding flows that are measurable, iterable, and connected to your analytics.
Data architecture for product analytics
Knowing how users behave inside your product requires intentional instrumentation from the start. We design event schemas, integrate analytics pipelines, and build the internal tooling you need.
How We Approach Product Engineering
We are not a factory. We don't take a specification and execute it without judgment. We are a thinking partner in the product development process — and we contribute perspective on what to build, not just how to build it.
Scoping for learning, not features
In early-stage product development, the goal of each sprint is to learn something, not just to ship something. We scope releases to maximise the information they generate.
Technical debt as a managed resource
Some shortcuts are the right decision at the right stage. Others are not. We're explicit about which shortcuts we're making, why, and what the cost of repaying them will be.
Instrumentation from day one
We build with analytics in mind from the beginning — structured logging, event tracking, error monitoring. The product decisions you make in month six will be better if you've been collecting the right data since month one.
Delivery Model
Discovery sprint (1–2 weeks)
Product requirements alignment, architecture proposal, data model, integration map, MVP scope definition.
Build phase (ongoing sprints)
Two-week sprints, weekly demos, shared project board, weekly written updates.
Launch
Production deployment, monitoring setup, load testing, handover documentation.
Post-launch
Optional retainer for ongoing feature development, scaling, and technical support.

Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can you launch an MVP?
A tightly scoped MVP — one that validates a single core assumption — can typically be designed and shipped in 8–14 weeks. Most MVP delays come from scope expansion, not technical complexity.
Do you help with product strategy as well as engineering?
We contribute to product discussions and will give you an honest engineering perspective on roadmap priorities. But we don't replace a product manager or founder who is close to the users.
Can you work with an existing product and engineering team?
Yes. We've embedded in existing teams as a senior engineering partner, owned specific modules or infrastructure independently, and led engineering on products with no technical co-founder.
What happens after we launch?
Clients can continue working with us on a monthly retainer basis. Same team, same codebase — no knowledge transfer cost. Retainers cover ongoing feature development, bug fixes, performance work, and infrastructure management.
